I Didn't Qualify for Legal Aid ... Now What?
If you can not get qualified for Legal Aid in Ontario, your next best option for legal help is going to be a community legal clinic. These types of Clinics offer low cost advice and representation from Lawyers and legal aids.
It should be noted that Legal Clinics won't deal with all legal matters and usually will only deal with employment, housing, pension, or landlord and tenant disputes. For a complete listing of Legal Clinics in your area click visit our Lawyer Database.
When you are dealing with a civil suit matter you won't qualify for Legal Aid or for representation by a legal clinic. In this situation you will need to locate a Lawyer who is willing to take your case on a percentage basis. This type of fee structure will usually cost you more in the long run but it is usually the only option available if you cannot afford Legal counsel and you don't qualify for Legal Aid.
